down to earth

I am grateful for the things upon things upon things which, I once thought only had materialistic value but actually have opportunities to really fold out a bunch of sentimental value over time – like, children’s toys – I remember the wooden block droopy ear dog toy that my grandfather built from scratch or at least that’s what my mom told me- little things like that remind me of stories like Pinocchio: that even materialistic things can, if cared for well enough and on the same level of valued care that could eventually condition us to love one another with the same kind of effort, gives me the eye opening appreciation and reaffirmation that anything is possible .. we have the ability to breathe life into things whether it be with our imagination our hearts or our empathy. So I am grateful! For things as well as for people, like my grandfather who created things, and my mother who is able to express and pass on stories and memories like these. Of course, upon starting this thought tunnel of appreciation, the list grows longer… and to infinity… of how many people and things I wouldn’t see the light of day without, and therefore I am incredibly grateful for.
