Eisenhower was a cool president
Traditional to do list is a dead end
Eisenhower matrix is the way to go it categorizes the to do list into four parts
The second part of this system “important but not urgent” is actually the most important part because the “important but urgent” parts will get completed by default but the items within this secondary part can get swept under the rug because they are seldom scheduled in well or consistently
Find Beauty and fun in the mundane ordinary tasks: will make your day more meaningful
Powerhour – an hour in the morning of the day dedicated only to the tasks that are “important but not urgent” I.e calling your mom ; writing a book
Somehow much more potent to listen to a live interview rather than a planned edited monologue not that the latter does not have just as much if not more content or value but there is something to say about the catalyst of being energized by the person talking to you and the spontaneity that you get from having to answer questions on the spot. The spontaneity sometimes gives rise to ideas or related stories that have been hiding away
Also, after seeing some of the behind the scenes of edited videos albeit read from a script, there are pauses and mistakes and such that happen that create sometimes visible anxiety through into the next scenes after they are edited simply by virtue of the fact that you are alone reading a script.
Priority analogy : Health and relationship and happiness are the big rocks
And work is the sand
If you stack the sand (work) in a glass jar first the rocks might not fit
If you stack the rocks (health; relationships; happiness) first the sand (work) will inherently work it’s way through and in between the rocks and they can all cohesively fit in the glass with room to breathe
This is the analogy for prioritizing health relationships and personal happiness over work
IF you have tasks that are overwhelming , break them up into easily manageable tasks ie “film video” – write script- film based on script
